If you choose a climate controlled unit you can be sure that your clothes or furniture will be protected for a long period and no weather conditions could affect them. One of the problems with self-storage units is that most companies don't offer insurance. Some provide insurance against environmental damages, but not all items are covered it. You can rent self-storage for a minimum period of one month and then renew it every other month. Try to choose a reputable self-storage company, with a good security system and customer service. There is a variety of available self-storage facilities, so do a little research, compare fees and be aware that if you fail to pay your rent or abandon your items, there will be an auction held in order to cover any losses.
