Protecting Appliances and Electronics When You Move Protecting Appliances and Electronics When You Move Your appliances and electronics are among your most treasured and loved possessions. That is why you should take extra care for these when you move. Of course, you have to get insurances for them just in case of an accident. But protecting these against damages is the best you can do. Here are some reminders you should keep in mind to keepsake your appliances:  Washing machine. Clean it thoroughly and make sure to leave no dirt inside. Dry it well too and disconnect drain hoses from it.  Clothes dryer. Unplug it before cleaning it properly. Exert more cleaning efforts on its lint screen.  Stove/range/oven. Remove grease from these by washing the washable parts while wiping those that are not.  Refrigerator and freezer. Defrost freezer and clean it until the foul smell is removed. Clean up the ref too. Dry the refrigerator properly before putting it in its original box.  Remove brittle appliance parts like glass trays. Pack these parts separately using used newspapers. Meanwhile, here are some caring tips for your electronics:  Use the original packaging of your CD player, VCR, and other electronics since this is the perfect protection for your things.  If the original packaging is unavailable, use a strong carton and protect the electronics inside with a Styrofoam or bubble wraps.  Indicate that the electronics is fragile.  Disconnect wires and pack these separately.  Make back-up files just in case your hard drive suffers crashing during the move. As long as you do all of these, you don't have to worry anything about the safety of your beloved appliances and electronics during the move.
