TW16 is predominantly made up of the town of Sunbury-on-Thames in the Surrey borough of Spelthorne. It is located roughly sixteen miles southwest of London and is bordered by Feltham, Hampton and the River Thames. The town is split into two parts by the M3: Lower Sunbury, which is known locally as Sunbury Village, and Sunbury Common which makes up the northern sector of the town. It is a fairly residential town but plays host to the Queen Mary Resevoir which was constructed in 1925. The St Mary’s Anglican Church perched beautifully on the bank of the river found a mention in Charles Dickens’s book Oliver Twist and has been the site of worship for over two thousand years, in various different guises. Sunbury was also mentioned in Orson Wells’s seminal War of the Worlds.
